Congratulations on your 100th anniversary City Pirates!

Setting sail together for the next Century of City Pirates

City Pirates will celebrate its 100th anniversary on 15 July 2021. It was born on July 15, 1921 as "Sint-Jan Football Club Merxem". In 1941 the club merged with Olse-Voetbal and the tradition club Olse Merksem could start its way towards the 2nd division! After the glory years in the sixties and seventies the club separated from Olse and Merksem SC had a harder time. The club ended up in the provincial series.

With president Michel Pradolini behind the wheel, the club took a new direction. Social and football went hand in hand and this resulted in 2014 in the name change to City Pirates. Meanwhile, the project has grown from 170 to over 1300 members and the Pirates are also active in Linkeroever, Luchtbal, Deurne and Dam. Sportingly, the club rose to 2nd amateur league. Socially, the staff and volunteers create a warm home for their Pirates. Their social activities include home and school visits, homework help, workshops, guidance to (student) work ...

The 100th anniversary means a lot to the Pirates.

As a partner and sponsor, Van Wellen Group would like to congratulate the Pirates!
