We are sporty and support others

As a company, future-proof business is daring to be more than a commercial machine.

Van Wellen Group is happy to contribute with conviction if this can give someone a helping hand, especially the youth!

an example for many other sports clubs

Windrose Giants Antwerp

With some chauvinism it can be safely said that Antwerp is the cradle of Belgian basketball. During the fifties and sixties of the last century, basketball flourished in Antwerp on the numerous urban basketball squares such as the Stuyvenbergplein, the Veemarkt, the Sint-Jans Plein and the De Coninckplein.

Professionalization and commercialization of the club was indispensable to guarantee a stable operation and so in the 2005-2006 season not only the name change to Antwerp Giants became a fact, but Roger Roels also further developed the club into an example for many other sports clubs.

The Night of the Giants started in 2007. The first edition attracted 11.000 spectators to the Sportpaleis. The seventh edition set the Belgian spectator record for a basketball match at 17.150 in the Sportpaleis in 2016.

Van Wellen Group is not only a sponsor of this club, which is characterized as a club that is strongly focused on the professional support and training of the youth. From the 2020–2021 season, the General Manager of Van Van Wellen Group, Björn Verhoeven, has also become chairman of the Antwerp Giants.

We love the Giants, we do!

lasting memories

Royal Cappellen Football Club

Setting up a football team is not that difficult in itself, but more than 100 years of ensuring that this club, while retaining its local roots, ensures one of the region's leading youth academies combined with eye-catching sporting results is something different.

Jos Van Wellen, who was once a player for Cappellen himself and later the driving force behind the club, ensured stable growth and further development of this tradition club. It goes without saying that son Louis Van Wellen, and the entire Van Wellen Group with him, will continue the work of Jos.

The fact that the stadium was named after Jos is a lasting memory for the whole family and the entire club of the special period that he led the club.

Football the engine, Social Engagement the Fuel, Diversity the Power

City Pirates

KSC City Pirates wants to bring well-structured, competitive, recreational and attractive football by offering a high-quality youth academy and using this as a social platform. By means of this social platform, opportunities can be given to children from Antwerp, with the right values and standards. The club currently has nearly 1.300 footballers. Young and old, with or without disabilities, girls or boys, regardless of color, belief or background: together they form a close-knit community.

City Pirates is more than football. The social aspect emerges during home and school visits, homework guidance, music and dance workshops, digital classes, guidance to (student) work. With this, the club wants to meet the social aspect and club life in Antwerp and surrounding municipalities, all with a clearly healthy budget.

It is for this reason that Van Wellen Group has supported the City Pirates for a number of years now and is happy to give support where possible.
